I was doing a word study of “understanding” and came across the Greek word Parakoloutheo which caught my attention, so I want to share what I found. The word understanding in the Greek is the word Parakoloutheo (Strong's G3877), which means to inquire, follow after, follow close, accompany, be always at one's side, to attend one wherever one goes. It also means to follow up to attain knowledge of, examine, investigate, and trace the course of all that has taken place. In addition, it means to follow faithfully a standard or rule or to conform to.
It is easy to see in this description of "understanding" that if we inquire of the Lord and follow close after Him, remaining in His presence, then we will have understanding.
We are in a new season, and we have not gone this way before. It is essential for each individual to have understanding of what is needed for this time. This comes from being in His presence.
Therefore, I urge you to ask for and seek after understanding by inquiring of God and remaining in His Presence.
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding." - Proverbs 4:7 NKJV
