Positioning Hearts

How we respond to God’s call in this season could be critical.

We need to position our hearts to be filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. In Ephesians 1:17, Paul prayed: “asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.”

Discerning what is happening in our lives takes practice, but He is faithful to guide us and give us answers if we ask. Knowing what God is doing could save us a lot of pain and wasted time. We must also know when we are being called away and answer the call.

It is important to realize that we may be required to leave everything behind to answer that call. To answer the call requires a conscious decision on our part to pay the price to follow Jesus. Realize that what is available on the other side of the cost is far more valuable than what you may have to give up. This is a good price to pay.

Not knowing the season and the call can be costly.

The Shulamite woman of the Song of Solomon 5:2-8 missed her day of visitation she longed for because it was inconvenient for her.

The women in Isaiah 32:15 failed to discern the call and leading of the Lord; their complacency to act caused lack, disappointment, and despair.

The Israelites, when in the wilderness, missed their promised land because they did not understand the wilderness process.

We position our hearts by seeking to understand the times and seasons so that we can recognize when God is calling us into a specific season or place.
