The current season will be marked by great humility. What is true spiritual humility? It is recognizing that you are nothing without God, that you can do nothing without God, that you need Him in all things pertaining to life and godliness, that you were bought with a price, you now belong to God, and you are to do His will and not your own.
Humility is self-sacrificing; pride is self-serving. Self-sacrificing is not being a doormat. The self-sacrificing this refers to is giving up your will for the will of God. It is putting aside your wants for the higher purposes of God. It is to understand the bigger picture and your place in it.
For those who make themselves humble in this season, God will revive their spirit and their heart.
"For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones" - Isaiah 57:15 NKJV
God wants a clean house without reproach. He will give every opportunity for repentance, but if there is no repentance, He will expose. This seems harsh, but it is a facet of His fatherly love.
We are told in the Bible that judgment begins at the house of God (1 Peter 4:17). Often his judgment involves a 'separating' so that the righteous are left untouched. An example is when the children of Israel were tested in the wilderness before they could enter into the promised land - and only a tiny remnant survived from that entire generation, the rest all perished in the wilderness.
I feel that the judgment the Lord has shown me is the judgment of hearts so that we have a chance to repent. The signs of the times and the prophecies all point to an ever-nearing return of the Lord. It is time to seek Him diligently to learn what He desires from us at this time. When we draw near to Him, He begins to show us the things in us that need to change. He judges and reveals our heart to us so that we can repent and turn back to Him and His ways. (1 Peter 4)
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV
“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” - Psalm 139:23-24 KJV
